Chocolate. My downfall. There can never be too much chocolate. Well, these bars might prove that wrong. They are extremely rich.
I promise I won't go on ranting, raving and making you scroll through three pages of text just to get to the recipe. Here it is.
Ingredients:
1 cup Butter
1 1/4 Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
3/4 C Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 Cups Sugar
1/4 C Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 tsp. Salt
4 Eggs
1 1/4 C. All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 C. Mini Chocolate Chips
Cheesecake Filling:
1-8oz Cream Cheese
1 - 11.75 oz. Hot Fudge Sundae Topping (I used a private label brand of dark chocolate Sauce)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F
1) Melt Butter and chocolate chips (Regular sized ones) in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.
2) Mix in Cocoa Powder.
3) Add sugars, vanilla extract and salt. Stir to combine.
4) Add eggs, one at a time, mix thoroughly.
5) Stir in flour.
6) In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese until smooth. Slightly heat the fudge topping in the microwave for 30 seconds to make it easier to get out of the jar.
7) Thoroughly mix fudge topping and cream cheese.
8) Spread 2/3 of batter into a 9 x 13 pan. Using a small off-set spatula is a lifesaver here.
9) Spread cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie batter. Offset spatula is a great here too.
10) Top with remaining brownie batter. Again, offset spatula is great.
11) Top with mini chocolate chips.
12) Bake for 30-33 minutes or until the center is set with a slight jiggle.
13) Completely Cool before cutting.
