Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's been awhile since I actually created a blog post. Mostly due to depression and not having the strength or energy to test things out. But today I had a brief boost of energy so I decided to whip up some cookies.

Nothing bothers me more than a long ass blog post while just wanting to get to the damn recipe. So I will keep this short and sweet.

First, you are going to want to brown your butter. This can be quite tricky. I suggest that you use a metal pan so that you can see the bottom. Non stick pans will work, it just takes a little more work. You must be careful not to over cook your butter otherwise you will burn the milk solids in it and then its trash.

While your butter is browning you can compile the rest of the ingredients.

Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 C Butter, Browned & Cooled

1 C Brown Sugar

1/3 C Sugar

2 tsp Vanilla

2 Eggs

2 C Flour

1 tsp. Baking Soda

3/4 tsp. Salt

2 Cups Chocolate Chips

1) Brown Butter by heating the butter in a pan over medium heat. The butter will melt and foam. If you blow on the foam, it will create an opening so you can check on the stage of your butter. Check out the beautiful browned butter in the picture below. You will want to cool your butter otherwise it will melt your sugars.

2) Cream cooled Browned Butter, Brown Sugar and Sugar. Next add Vanilla.

3) Mix in both eggs into batter.

4) Add Flour, Baking Soda and Salt. Mix to thoroughly combine.

5) Mix in Chocolate Chips.

6) Place into an oven at 375F for 12-15 minutes. I made BIG cookies using a ice cream sized scoop. They took a bit longer, but you want to look for browned edges and set centers.

PS. Before I baked all of the cookies, I mixed in 1/2 cup or so of toffee pieces to the 2nd batch of baking.
